Cervical Disc Home Care

To assist you during your treatment program, we have provided this list of care instructions.  It is our hope to make you aware of certain movements which can aggravate the condition and those movements which can help.  Following these instructions will hasten your recovery.

 

      Keep your head up, do not tuck your chin to your neck, or work with your neck bent forward.

Times you may do this: when walking, sitting, eating, reading, writing, watching tv, painting nails, tying shoes, getting dressed, picking up kids, doing housework,  cooking, pumping gas, putting on pillowcases, working on computers, gardening, and for men: using a urinal.

 

      Look down from upper neck only, do not bend neck forward.

 

      Cervical Traction - begin with 20 reps 1x day and work up to 60 reps 2x day.

Reduces stress in the neck and aids in the prevention and recuperation of injuries.

Helps restore normal cervical “arc of life” relieving tension on the spinal cord.

Re-inflates discs, heals bulges and tears keeping them young and strong.

Stimulates production of endorphins (body’s natural pain killers!
